Il disturbo depressivo maggiore nel servizio di salute mentale
The purpose of this thesis is to present and discuss current knowledge on Major Depressive Disorder at a territorial contest Major Depression in Italy is the most common mental disorder. According to the World Health Organization, worldwide, there are about 121 million people suffering from Major Depressive Disorder and the Italian population suffering from major depressive disorder is 4,773,208. The number of people suffering from this disease is likely to increase, in fact, by 2020 it is estimated that depression will rise to 2nd place among all diseases. The risk of developing a depressive disorder in women, during their lifetime, is between 10 and 25%, while the male population is between 5 and 15%. In this work, through a comprehensive analysis of the literature, describes the socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of Major Depressive Disorder. In this thesis, are presented the results of an experimental clinical study conducted at the Centers for Mental Health in Orbassano and Grugliasco (ASL TO3) in patients with this disease. The subjects were 66 recruited for a period of time of 6 months. The purpose of this study was to observe the characteristics anamestico-clinical therapeutic and approach of patients with major depressive disorder, single episode or recurrent (diagnosis according to DSM IV-TR), the Mental Health Centres in Orbassano and Grugliasco (ASL TO3). Moreover, the basic characteristics of Major Depressive Disorder in the territorial context: examining how major depressive disorder arises in relation to primary care, paying attention to the problem of taking over at the Center for Mental Health and accession to the treatment by patients suffering from this disease. Currently, only a fraction of the population suffering from Major Depressive Disorder is aimed at a mental health center. Most patients with major depressive disorder (90-95%) were treated only in the setting of general practice and only a minority pertains directly to psychiatric services (2%). On the one hand the complete description of the patient and its manifestations of disease can help in finding a drug treatment, welfare and social reintegration of more targeted to patients, with a view to integrated multidisciplinary treatment strategy, but at the same time, it can give an overview for prospective patients to the Mental Health Centres with a diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder. A description of the area and how you place the Major Depressive Disorder in it, suggests therapeutic strategies - rehabilitation to improve the current situation.
